“4me4you” visits Carroll/Fletcher Gallery showcasing Thomson & Craighead “ Never Odd or Even”
MY PROCESS
Jon Thomson and Alison Craighead have been working and exhibiting together since the late 1990s. Much of their work looks at how the internet and digital technologies have changed the way we experience and understand the world around us.
Their exhibition at commercial gallery Carroll/Fletcher brought together two decades of this work, offering both a retrospective and a reflection on just how much technology has changed during that time.
In 2013, 4me4you visited Carroll/Fletcher to see Never Odd or Even, an exhibition by Thomson and Craighead that explored the ways information reaches us through the World Wide Web and other digital technologies.
The artists took the constant stream of data we encounter every day and transformed it into works that were often poetic, unexpected and thought-provoking.
At the heart of the exhibition were some big questions about how technology shapes our understanding of the world, and what it means to be human in an increasingly digital age.
