Marimekko at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025
Marimekko, the iconic Finnish design house renowned for its bold prints and vibrant colors, presented its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025, exploring the art of pattern through playful proportions and balanced compositions. Set against a former industrial site in Copenhagen’s harbor, the runway show fused performative expression and craftsmanship, highlighting the brand’s signature use of dynamic florals, stripes, and color contrasts.
Creative Director Rebekka Bay reinterpreted classic Marimekko silhouettes, such as the iconic 1960s Marimini dress, transforming it into a playful summer co-ord set. The collection juxtaposed mini and maxi lengths, layered lightness with utility touches, and floral motifs with graphic stripes, emphasizing both femininity and pragmatism.
Marimekko also celebrated 70 years of the Jokapoika shirt, updating the classic genderless design with contemporary crops, multicolor variations, and oversized prints, while retaining the craftsmanship and iconic Piccolo stripe that exemplifies Marimekko’s artistic integrity. Paired with contrasting adidas Tokyo shoes, the collection brought energy, joy, and creativity to the runway, reflecting the brand’s enduring legacy and playful innovation..
