Juxtapositions, the latest collection from Forza Collective, embodies this dynamic interplay, drawing inspiration from historical elements while maintaining a distinctly modern sensibility. Designer Kristoffer Kongshaug delves into the aesthetics of the 1920s, merging its signature silhouettes and techniques with the clean, minimalistic approach of the 1990s—an ethos that aligns seamlessly with Forza Collective’s vision.
The collection’s colour palette is both bold and understated, inviting the viewer to appreciate the intricate craftsmanship behind each piece. There is a palpable sense of progression—an embrace of a higher power and a forward-looking spirit—while simultaneously honouring history, the beauty of reinvention, and the timeless appeal of the past made new.
“I fell in love with French illustrations from old magazines dated back to the 1920s and 1930s, featuring draping and a strong emphasis on the dropped waistline. The designs were either highly structured or completely fluid, and I was drawn to the idea of reviving these elements in a contemporary, modern setting,” says Kongshaug.
