Inspired by the glamour and grit of a 1970s and 80s New York bar, Smokey Mirrors reflects the diversity of women who frequented such places: the corporate businesswoman from Wall Street, the femme fatale in high heels, and the bohemian musician drifting through the crowd.

For GESTUZ, the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection Smokey Mirrors is an exploration of personas, transformation, and the multifaceted nature of femininity. Faux fur coats, high collars, and woolen scarves wrapped tightly around the face, as if the women have just stepped in from the cold, gritty streets. A leather jacket is slowly removed, revealing the details beneath, inviting us into a world where different identities slowly unfold with every look.

The collection itself plays with contrasts, elegant, luxurious pieces styled against the raw and the undone.
The colour palette is similarly inspired by the dark, moody interiors of a New York bar at night, with deep reds, browns, and greens echoing leather seating and velvet drapes. A sharp olive green punctuates the collection, nodding to the bite of an extra-dirty martini.
