With a refined and precise elegance, founders and joint creative directors Min Kim and Sey Hong set out to create a timeless, considered uniform.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2018, Birrot effortlessly blends Korean design heritage with Scandinavian minimalism. The brand’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, “Highway,” marked a pivotal moment as it debuted on the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
Inspired by a rainy day in Seoul, the collection transported viewers to the Yeongdong Bridge, symbolising the connection between Korean and Danish cultures. Models graced the runway with dewy skin and windswept hair, embodying the sensation of being caught in a downpour. The designs featured sleek, streamlined silhouettes with precise cuts, including A-line shapes that subtly nodded to traditional Korean hanbok garments. A standout element was the brand’s self-developed fabric, ‘Lay’—a bonded crêpe that appeared in voluminous trousers and structured jackets.
The colour palette drew from vintage photographs of the founders’ mothers, with rich, nostalgic tones like deep maroons and inky blues. This personal homage beautifully blended heritage with modern aesthetics, adding an intimate, heartfelt layer to the collection.
Birrot’s debut runway show not only highlighted the brand’s unique fusion of cultural influences but also firmly established its reputation as a thoughtful marriage of tradition and contemporary design.
