Baum und Pferdgarten at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025
Baum und Pferdgarten, one of Denmark’s leading fashion houses, once again captured the essence of Scandinavian creativity during Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025. Known for their timeless yet playful approach to design, creative directors Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave showcased their continued mastery of contrast, craftsmanship, and character.
During Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025, Baum und Pferdgarten unveiled a preview of their Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “Notes from the Grandstand.” Drawing inspiration from the world of the Derby, the collection was a sophisticated play on contrasts—where sporting functionality met aristocratic glamour. The creative directors reimagined the movement and vibrancy of the racetrack, merging jockey-inspired uniforms with elegant guestwear seen at high-society racing events.
The collection featured sharp color-blocking, frilled detailing on sporty outerwear, and draped silhouettes that added fluidity and femininity. Powder pink tones, faux suede accessories, and horse rosette details paid homage to traditional equestrian style, while bold checks, leopard prints, and faux leather accents infused a modern energy.
In their own words, Baumgarten and Hestehave said: “We were drawn to the sharp colour-blocking and purpose-driven silhouettes of jockeys — so bold, so functional, so instantly recognisable. And just as captivating were the guests, dressed to be seen from every angle. That tension between performance and pageantry gave us a rich foundation to explore character, contrast, and everything in between.”
Through “Notes from the Grandstand,” Baum und Pferdgarten reaffirmed their position as pioneers of contemporary Danish design, blending humor, elegance, and purpose into a collection that celebrates individuality and joyful sophistication.
Directors Striped nylon nods to the uniforms of jockeys, while checks and bold colour contrasts add a feeling of movement. Frilled details on sporty outerwear introduce a feminine tension, subtly referencing classic equestrian attire. Dropped waist dresses and softly draped blouses introduce a graceful fluidity, while powder pink hues and faux suede accessories add a touch of composed drama. Horse rosette details and vintage lace pay homage to tradition, as leopard prints and faux leather bring a fresh, modern edge. Notes from the Grandstand captures the beauty of intentional contrast.
