4ME4YOU features designer ANDREJ GRONAU during Berlin Fashion Week SS26.
DESIGNER: ANDREJ GRONAU
At Berlin Fashion Week SS26, Andrej Gronau, the Central Saint Martins graduate who caught attention with his debut last season returned with a bold evolution of his signature aesthetic. His new collection, titled “Alpine Fiction”, was a vibrant and imaginative reimagining of folkloric traditions, infused with youthful energy and contemporary surrealism.
Building on the momentum of his colourful knits and recurring star motifs from last season, Gronau pushed the envelope further, offering silhouettes that were playful yet meticulously constructed. The show opened with a crisp men’s white top featuring twisted ruching, paired with trousers that created a drop-waist illusion through graphic block paneling—a nod to the designer’s attention to visual architecture.
Backstage, Gronau revealed that the collection was born from a spontaneous trip to the Alps, a narrative thread that ran subtly through the garments. Bavarian influences were reinterpreted through a contemporary lens: lederhosen transformed into oversized board shorts, delicate scarves looped neatly around necks, and cashmere pieces adorned with pussy-bows—details that brought a whimsical edge to the collection.
What Gronau achieved in Alpine Fiction was more than seasonal fashion—it was a narrative-driven exploration of heritage and identity, crafted with both reverence and rebellion. His ability to reinterpret folk costume within the framework of modern menswear is proof that this young designer is not only one to watch but one reshaping the dialogue between past and future.
As Berlin continues to position itself as a global hub for emerging talent, Gronau stands at the forefront—a designer threading cultural storytelling through fashion with unapologetic imagination.
