Victoria Araujo, also known as Super.Sonic.Lab, is a Caracas-raised, Miami-based visual artist and art director whose work moves between image-making, fashion, technology, and surrealism.
MY PROCESS
With more than twenty years of experience in art direction and branding, she founded Super Sonic Lab in 2023 as a space to explore AI as a medium for making surrealist art.
Her work often centers on fragmented figures and hybrid forms, playing with the space between the human and the non-human. The images can feel strange, beautiful, and slightly unsettling. Rather than seeing AI as a shortcut, Araujo uses it as part of her creative process—a way to experiment, build images, and develop new visual languages.

In Faces Split by the Gesture, paint becomes more than something placed on the body. It breaks it apart. One side of the figure remains recognizably human, while the other shifts into something more constructed, with geometry, texture, and color layered across the skin almost like architecture.
Clothing becomes part of that transformation. It doesn’t simply dress the body; it hides it, reshapes it, and changes the way we read the figure. Volumes push beyond the body, footwear takes on the weight of sculpture, and headpieces become masks.
Moving between red and black, fabric and painted surface, the figures slowly stop feeling like portraits. They become something else, part fashion, part ritual, part sculpture, and perhaps even a warning.
