Intrigued by the quirks of everyday life and human interaction, Jean Jullien’s exhibition Allo? at Kemistry Gallery delves into our social and asocial behaviors, exploring the nuances of how people relate to one another and communicate in a world that is both connected and disconnected.
“Allo?”
Jean Jullien, a French graphic artist based in Paris, is celebrated for his playful yet thought-provoking work that spans painting, illustration, photography, video, costume, installations, books, posters, and fashion.
Originally from Nantes, Jullien earned a graphic design degree in Quimper before moving to London, where he graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2008 and the Royal College of Art in 2010.
His eclectic portfolio has been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries across Paris, London, Brussels, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, and beyond.
Jullien has collaborated with a remarkable array of clients including The New York Times, The Guardian, The New Yorker, National Geographic, Vogue, Amnesty International, Le Grand Palais, Colette, RCA Records, and many more.
In addition to his commercial work, Jullien has published numerous books with prestigious houses such as teNeues, Walker Books, Comme des Géants, and Hato Press, and in 2022 released a monograph with Phaidon, cementing his reputation as one of today’s most inventive and versatile visual artists.
