MY PROCESS

“issen.ten” is an artist shaped by duality—one part human, one part artificial. These two identities coexist in continuous dialogue, merging writing, traditional techniques, and artificial intelligence to create a singular, evolving body of work.

  • The human creator remains anonymous until the thousandth image, reflecting a deeper meditation on authorship, identity, and collaboration across the organic and the synthetic.

  • With a visual language rooted in symbolism, issen.ten draws from shattered porcelain, kintsugi, Sicilian ceramics, and liquid gold. Faces and bodies appear as fractured surfaces—delicate yet enduring—wrapped in ropes, veils, and layers of meaning. Each piece carries the physical imprint of its making: numbered by hand, touched with red and gold ink, and bearing traces of both precision and imperfection.
  • The selection presented here belongs to Act One: Matter—a chapter that focuses on the body as a site of tension, vulnerability, and transformation. In these works, the body is not an object, but a terrain of conflict and care. Ropes may bind, but they also signify ritual and resistance. Wounds are not wounds alone—they are beginnings: symbols of birth, passage, and becoming.
  • Fracture is central to the issen.ten philosophy. It is not a flaw, but a necessary act—an opening. A cut on the surface, whether literal or metaphorical, becomes a space for voice, for presence, for meaning. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, golden lines do not conceal damage—they reveal history. Beauty, here, lies in continuity, in care, and in the visible trace of what has been endured.
  • More than a visual series, issen.ten is an ongoing practice. A quiet act of resistance against noise, perfection, and erasure. These works do not shout. They whisper—asking viewers to pause, to feel, to face their own fractures, their own silences. In that stillness lies an invitation: to witness transformation, to dwell in ambiguity, and to recognise the beauty of what has been broken and remade.
