SKALL STUDIO — BACKSTAGE AT COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK AW26
During Copenhagen Fashion Week AW26, 4ME4YOU goes backstage with Skall Studio, offering a quieter, more observant view of the collection.
Through behind-the-scenes imagery alone, the focus shifts to process, texture, and the understated strength that defines the Danish brand.
Founded by sisters Julie and Marie Skall, Skall Studio is rooted in Scandinavian values of craftsmanship, longevity, and material integrity.
The AW26 collection was deliberately concise, just 20 looks, allowing space for detail and intention to take centre stage.
Flowers appear not as surface decoration but as part of the fabric itself, woven directly into textiles and enriched with delicate embroidery and refined lace. These softer moments bring balance to darker paisley florals, expressed in deep browns and muted reds.
Tailoring forms the backbone of the collection. Hearty wool suiting grounds the silhouettes, which the designers describe as “composed, strong and timeless.”
Stripes and checks define relaxed trousers and sharply cut blazers, pieces that feel lived-in yet precise, echoing a sense of literary elegance. A subtle nod to author Karen Blixen appears in a roll-neck knit dyed in the striking shade known as Blixen Blue.
Backstage, the styling details feel especially intimate: wicker baskets filled with flowers and blankets, skates casually slung over a shoulder. Seen up close, these gestures reveal Skall Studio’s world not as a performance, but as a way of life, quietly poetic, deeply considered, and enduring.
