MY PROCESS
We’re excited to shine a spotlight on the dynamic work of Keith Aylmore, also known as @KWANO.GEN.
A designer by training, Keith’s career spans advertising and technology, but his true artistic passion lies in portraiture.
His signature use of black and white, born from years of drawing with graphite, andcontinues to define his creative voice, even as his work evolves to incorporate both traditional techniques and AI-generated imagery.
Keith’s artistic process is a fusion of influences, drawn from natural textures, music, film, and graphic design. He resists the constraints of a fixed style, preferring instead to let his work take on many forms. From photorealistic portraits to bold, experimental compositions, the versatility in his approach allows him to shift fluidly between styles while maintaining black and white as a constant thread.
Central to his practice is storytelling. Keith often uses multi-page carousels to weave visual narratives, with music serving as both an inspiration and a visual language that guides rhythm, mood, and structure. His involvement in the AI art community has been instrumental in shaping his work, providing both creative support and a continued source of inspiration.
Keith’s art explores the intersection of traditional portraiture with a design-led sensibility, addressing themes of coexistence with technology and the future of human-machine relationships. His minimalist approach, high contrast imagery, and diverse stylistic techniques have earned him a distinct and recognisable visual signature.
Most recently, Keith was named AI/CC Feature Artist of the Month in September 2025. His work has been exhibited internationally across Norway, the UK, the US, Spain, and Switzerland. This year, you can catch him exhibiting at Miami Basel and featured in PROMPT Magazine, Issue #16. We are thrilled to share his journey and artistry with our readers.
