Originally from İzmir, Turkey, and now based in Barcelona, İlayda is a creative director and AI-native designer who draws on her background in Interior Design from IED and Ephemeral Architecture from Elisava to craft her unique visual language.
Paranormalitty’s work delves into the internet’s obsession with liminal spaces, backrooms, and the uncanny, reimagining these in-between worlds through surreal coloUrs, Memphis-inspired forms, and dreamlike compositions.
A fusion of myth and modern digital aesthetics, her art reflects Turkish cultural symbols, like the nazar boncuğu (evil eye) and folkloric ideas of portals, memory, and the unseen, transforming them into talismans that recur throughout her work.
Her creative practice spans from self-portraiture to spatial design and cinematic narratives, creating environments where time, memory, and perception blur and dissolve. Ilayda has designed for renowned events like Sónar and Cruïlla, and her 3D visuals have been featured in exhibitions and galleries.
Through her digital persona @paranormalitty, which began with haunting GIF loops on Phhhoto, she explores themes of identity, space, and digital temporality—transforming fleeting moments into immersive, otherworldly visual experiences.
