The Bonnetje Autumn/Winter 2025 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week explores the growing tension between personal and professional life in an era where the boundaries between the two are increasingly blurred. Titled “Doublages,” the collection examines the pressure to perform in both arenas as the divide between them shrinks.
For this collection, Bonnetje reimagines the traditional white-collar suit, once confined to office settings, transforming it into something that no longer represents a single, uniform identity.
Instead, these suits embody multiple forms, each adaptable to different lifestyles and expressions. One standout piece features vertical blinds—typically used for managing privacy, light, and airflow—repurposed as a dress, symbolising the layered nature of self-image. Here, functionality takes a backseat to creativity, allowing space for personal expression and reflecting the fluidity of identity. The piece speaks to the idea of an individual unlocking and reclaiming their potential.
In another creation, transparent plastic sleeves—commonly used for documents—are repurposed into a form-fitting dress that exposes the body. This piece boldly speaks to the wearer’s immersion in their professional life, wrapped in the material of their work, while also confronting the pervasive demand for transparency that now spans both the public and private spheres.
