At the core of Christian Hiadzi’s practice is the passion and drive to create an idea that in itself has become a catalyst to challenge and enhance the viewer’s imagination. Christian considers himself the conveyor, the vehicle through which the imagination of the viewer is pushed beyond the obvious.
‘’If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint’’ – Edward Hopper
Christian’s work uses mediums of acrylic and oil on canvas, board and paper. The faces of his subjects are heavily worked and textured, using mostly palette knife, through the processes of layering and deducting paint.
