  • The Start of His Journey
O’Neill’s career began unexpectedly in the late 1950s when he worked as a photographer for an airline’s photographic unit at London Heathrow Airport. His career-defining moment came when he unknowingly captured Home Secretary Rab Butler sleeping in a waiting area. This serendipitous shot led him to Fleet Street, where he joined The Daily Sketch in 1959.
